RUTHERFORD, N.J.
(February 8, 2008) - The Felician College Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) raised more than $300 in donations for the American Cancer Society during last Saturday's home basketball doubleheader against Bloomfield College.
Felician joined in a national initiative of the Women's Basketball Coaches Association on Saturday entitled "Think Pink," designed to raised awareness of breast cancer. SAAC members solicited donations in the gym lobby, and anyone giving $5 or more received a "Think Pink" T-shirt as a thank you. A total of $313 was collected.
Think Pink T-shirts are available until this Friday from the
athletics department for anyone wishing to make a donation of $5 or
more. Interested parties should contact assistant director of
athletics Erin Fitzgerald, (201) 559-3540 or fitzgeralde@felician.edu.
"I am proud of the amount that we raised, and I hope that increases by the end of the week," said Fitzgerald, the Felician SAAC advisor. "It was nice to see both the Felician and Bloomfield fans come together to make a difference in the fight against breast cancer."
