Faces of the CACC

Name:        Bernadette Macca 

Position:      Associate Commissioner of the CACC

Where did you graduate from and when? I graduated from Connecticut College in 1995.

What is your role at the CACC Office? I work with the CACC Student Athlete Advisory Committee and I am the compliance coordinator and Senior Woman Administrator for the conference. I also work with the conference budget.

Did you play a sport in college? Did you win any awards for your performance? I played Basketball and Lacrosse.

Why did you choose to work at the CACC Office? Two reasons - I relocated to Connecticut to be closer to my family and I was looking for an athletic administration position.

What other jobs have you held before this current position? I was a college coach (basketball and lacrosse) for the past 12 years at Utica College, Elmira College and Bloomsburg University.

What is your favorite aspect of life at the CACC Office?  I enjoy working with all of our member institutions on a daily basis, and I also enjoy the "global" view of athletics that I have from my position.

If you could invite three people to dinner, who would they be? Dalai Lama, My grandmother, and Henry Thoreau

If you could be someone for a day, famous or not, who would you be? Oprah

If you had free tickets to any sporting event in the world, where would you go? The Olympics

If you could be the President for a day, what would you do? Take a stance on global warming and mandate educational programs in every school about preserving our resources.
