GCU'S WALKER NAMED 2008 CACC WOMAN OF THE YEAR

June 25, 2008

NEW HAVEN, CT--Heather Walker of Georgian Court University is the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference’s (CACC) nominee for the 2008 NCAA Woman of the Year Award, it was announced today by Commissioner Dan Mara. The NCAA Woman of the Year Award honors senior student-athletes who have distinguished themselves throughout their collegiate careers in the areas of academic achievement, athletics excellence, service and leadership. Walker played both volleyball and softball for the Lions and she received numerous accolades for her athletic, academic and leadership achievements.

DOMINICAN COLLEGE UNVEILS NEW ATHLETICS LOGO

June 24, 2008

ORANGEBURG, NY--The Dominican College Athletic Department has announced the unveiling of the first official athletic department logo. Dominican College has never had an official athletics logo. In the past, a single black Charger horse had been used, but no official logo was ever adopted. The new logo features the traditional black Charger horse on two hind legs with “Chargers” written in red and outlined in white, while “Dominican College” is written below that in white.

CONCORDIA COLLEGE TO JOIN CACC; WILL BEGIN CONFERENCE COMPETITION IN 2009-10

NEW HAVEN, CT--The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Council of Presidents has announced that Concordia College (N.Y.) has been awarded membership and will begin competition in the 2009-10 academic year. The CACC is a NCAA Division II Conference with members in five states. Founded in 1881, Concordia College is a four-year, co-educational liberal arts college located in suburban Westchester County, New York. Concordia's 33-acre campus is set in the small, affluent village of Bronxville, which is one square mile in size and just 30 minutes from downtown New York City.
