ORANGEBURG, NY--The Dominican College Athletic Department has announced the unveiling of the first official athletic department logo.  Dominican College has never had an official athletics logo.  In the past, a single black Charger horse had been used, but no official logo was ever adopted. The new logo features the traditional black Charger horse on two hind legs with "Chargers" written in red and outlined in white, while "Dominican College" is written below that in white. The text goes across the horse's stomach while front legs hang slightly over the text.

"We wanted to incorporate our schools colors of red, black and white into a uniformed logo for the department," said Director of Athletics, Joe Clinton.  "As we look to build upon our athletic image in the NCAA Division II, we needed to have a new consistent logo that people will associate with the college."

Royal Rooster Design of Johnston, Iowa was enlisted to create the new logo.  Royal Rooster Design is no stranger to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) or its members as they created the logos for the conference office and Caldwell College.  Lancaster Bible College and Minot State University are among other athletic departments that have worked with Royal Rooster Design.

"I am very excited that we were able to create this new visual logo for the department," said Director of Sports Information Kelly-Ann Di Giulio.  "It was necessary to create a standard logo for the department to help promote Dominican College Athletics and our sports teams."

The new logo will also be component of the new redesigned athletic department website that will be unveiled later this summer and will appear on all new athletic apparel and uniforms.
