CENTERVILLE, MA--Post University will host the 2008 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division II Baseball Championship, May 15-16 at Municipal Stadium in Waterbury, Conn. The Eagles will host Molloy College in a best-of-three games series beginning at 12 p.m. on Thursday afternoon.

"It's very exciting and I'm very anxious to see how our guys will perform against a very good opponent in a playoff-like series," Post Head Coach AJ McNamara said. "This is a wonderful opportunity. Everyone strives to win championships at the end of the year and this will be no different. I'm eager to see if our guys are up to the challenge of playing on this stage."

Game 2 will be on Friday, tentatively slated for 9 a.m. Game 3, if necessary, will be played following. The reason for the early start is due to the high school playoff rain date, which is slated for Friday afternoon. If there is no need for the rain date, first pitch for Game 2 will be 12 p.m. with Game 3, if necessary, to follow. Please check www.posteagles.com for complete and updated information on times.

The Eagles finished the regular season on a tear, winning 10 of their last 11 games to record a school-record 25-23 overall record and a 16-11 mark in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC). They were one of the hottest teams in the conference at the tail end of the season, winning 13 of their last 15 CACC games.

Molloy is 27-21 overall and went 15-12 in the East Coast Conference (ECC). The Lions fell in the first round of the ECC Tournament to C.W. Post, 10-6 on May 7. Molloy won the first meeting against Post this season, 5-3, on March 18.
