NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) released its weekly East Region Poll on Monday, March 29. Three Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) teams are ranked again this week.
Wilmington University, currently leading the CACC with a 6-0 record, bumped up a spot in the standings from sixth last week to fifth this week. The team has earned a 15-4 overall record so far this season. Sophomore catcher Mike Godwin was named CACC Player of the Week on Monday.
Concordia College trails the Wildcats in the sixth spot in the rankings. Concordia is currently 3-1 in CACC action and 15-7 overall. The Clippers had a nine-game win streak snapped by Felician over the weekend.
Dominican College stands eighth with an overall record of 10-7. The Chargers easily handled Adelphi University, which is second in the poll, with a 9-1 win on the road March 19. The Chargers are currently 4-1 in CACC play. Dominican and Concordia have already played two non-conference contests this season, each winning once. Their two conference match-ups will take place on April 13 and 14 in Orangeburg.
