2010 CACC Golf Weekly Awards

March 22

Player of the Week:  Paul Tighe, Wilmington University (Fr., Logan, N.J.) - Placed second at the Saint Thomas Aquinas Invitational by shooting rounds of 68 and 74. His total of 142 was two under par. His performance helped lead the Wildcats to the team championship, just one stroke ahead of the host.

Rookie of the Week: Daniel Ott, Wilmington University (Fr., Pilesgrove, N.J.) - Tied for third place at the Saint Thomas Aquinas Invitational, with a two round total of 143 (-1). hot rounds of 69 and 74.

March 30

Player of the Week:  David McGregor, Post University (Jr., Helensburgh, Scotland) - Placed third at the 60th Annual Southern California Division II Tournament last week. Shot rounds of 74, 78 and 72 for a total of 224 on the par-72 course. Led Post to a seventh place finish as a team.

Rookie of the Week: Thomas Rees, Post University (Fr., Creigian Cardiff, Wales) - Tied for 24th place at the Southern California Tournament. Shot rounds of 81, 81 and 79 for a total of 241.

April 5

Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week:  Devon Ripley, Goldey-Beacom College (Fr., 5-10, Camden, Del.) - Was the individual runner-up at the Goldey-Beacom Spring Classic, firing a round of 72 to finish two strokes behind the winner. Led the Lightning to a tie for second place as a team.

April 11

Player of the Week:  David McGregor, Post University (Jr., Helensburgh, Scotland) - Led Post to the team championship at the Dowling Peter King Memorial Invitational, shooting a 147 (76, 71) to finish in second place overall.

Co-Rookies of the Week: Michael Coppa, Goldey-Beacom College (Fr., Hampstead, Md.) and Nick Mafale, Wilmington University (Fr., Street, Md.). Coppa finished second overall at the Edwin B. Cottrell Invitational at West Chester. He fired rounds of 76 and 72 for a total of 148. He lost a sudden-death playoff to the winner from Indiana (Pa.). Mafale was just one stroke behind after shooting rounds of 73 and 76.

April 19

Player of the Week:  David McGregor, Post University (Jr., Helensburgh, Scotland) - Led Post to its fifth straight CACC Golf Championship on Tuesday at Lyman Orchards Golf Club. Also won the individual championship by virtue of a playoff victory against teammate, Lee Wanklyn. Both golfers were tied after 36 holes, and had to go to a playoff to decide the tournament's individual champion. McGregor shot rounds of 76 and 71.

Rookie of the Week: Daniel Ott, Wilmington University (Fr., Pilesgrove, N.J.) - Finished in third place at the CACC Championship to lead the Wildcats to a second place finish as a team. Shot rounds of 79 and 72 for a total of 151.

April 26

Player of the Week:  Marchant deVillier, Post University (So., 6-0, Paarl, South Africa) - Led Post to a second place finish at the 10-team AIC Invitational by shooting a two-day total of 155 (78, 77). Tied for seventh place.

Rookie of the Week: Thomas Rees, Post University (Fr., Creigian Cardiff, Wales) - Tied for seventh place at the AIC Invitational after carding rounds of 79 and 76 for a total of 155. Helped Post to a second place finish as a team.
