LOUISVILLE, Ky. (April 4, 2019) – Senior attack Casey Brown (Havre de Grace, Md.), who was recently named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Men's Lacrosse Player of the Week, was also selected to the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Division II Team of the Week. Brown totaled a dozen (12) points with nine goals and three assists during the Griffins' 1-1 week versus #3 Mercy College and St. Thomas Aquinas College (STAC).
Chestnut Hill College (4-4) had the difficult task of holding off #3 Mercy College (10-0) in Tuesday's non-conference matchup at Victory Field #1. The Griffins held their own early, only trailing 4-2 at the half. Unfortunately, a 23-10 shooting differential in the second half had its effect on the final result as the Mavericks escaped with a 12-7 victory. Brown headlined the Griffin effort, logging four of the Scarlet and Golds seven goals.
Four days later, on Saturday, March 30, the Scarlet and Gold dominated STAC (4-3) in a 14-8 non-conference matchup. The Griffins maintained a strong lead over the Spartans majority of the first half (9-3) and continued their stride for the remainder of the contest despite a small run in the final quarter. Brown led the Griffin charge with five goals, three assists, and a ground ball.
