PINEDA CLAIMS MEN'S SOCCER PLAYER OF THE WEEK HONORS

NEW HAVEN, CT - Johan Pineda of Post University has claimed Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Men's Soccer Player of the Week honors for the week ending Sunday, Nov. 9. Tim Weglicki of Holy Family was tabbed Rookie of the Week.
Pineda, a 6-1 junior midfielder from Lima, Peru, was named
MVP of the CACC Tournament after leading the Eagles to the title
with a 6-2 win over Holy Family. He scored two goals and added two
helpers in the championship match.
Weglicki, a freshman forward from Philadelphia, PA, scored at least one goal in all three CACC Tournament matches, including two in an upset of Dominican. He tallied a total of four goals for the week and was named to the All-Tournament Team.
CACC Notes
Holy Family - The Holy Family men's soccer team reached the CACC
Tournament Championship game for the second consecutive year. The
Tigers fell to Post in the title game, 6-2. To get to the final,
Holy Family tied Bloomfield at three, but won on PKs, 5-4, and
defeated Dominican. Tim Weglicki, Matt Kocher and Matt Irlich were
named to the All-Tournament Team. The Tigers end the year at
9-12-1.
