DANBURY, Conn. (June 5, 2019) -- Caldwell University softball sophomore Kaileen Cain (Hauppauge, N.Y.), freshman Nora Conway (Chicago, Ill.) and junior Christina Misiur (Sayreville, N.J.) were named as Eastern College Athletic Conference First All-Stars. Sophomore Paige Sandoval (Aliso Viejo, Calif.) and freshman Mariah Culver (Owego, N.Y.) earned ECAC All-Star Honorable Mention honors.
Cain earned National Fastpitch Coaches Association and Division II Conference Commissioner's Association First Team All-East Region honors earlier this month. She was also a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference First Team selection this season. Cain led the team with a .395 batting average this season and totaled three homeruns, 25 RBI, 10 doubles, two triples 51 hits and 31 runs scored. She posted a .574 slugging percentage and a .519 on base percentage. In the CACC, Cain ranks fourth in average, second in on base percentage, eighth in slugging and tied for ninth in doubles. Cain also earned CoSIDA Google Cloud Academic All-District Team recognition.
Conway posted an outstanding first collegiate season as the primary starting shortstop for the Cougars in 2019. She was selected as the NFCA Second Team All-Region and D2CCA First Team All-Region honors earlier this month. Conway was selected as the CACC Rookie of the Year and was a CACC First Team All-Conference pick. She was a three-time CACC Rookie of the Week selection this season. Conway was second on the team with a .385 batting average and led the Cougars with 48 runs scored, 77 hits, 33 RBI, 17 stolen bases and six triples. She added 14 doubles and posted a slugging percentage of .545. Conway ranks seventh in the CACC in average, 11th in slugging, ninth in stolen bases, tied for ninth in RBI, tied for first in triples, third for third in doubles, second in hits and third in runs scored.
Misiur earned NFCA Second Team All-Region honors at the utility non-pitcher position. She was a CACC First Team All-Conference selection and saw playing time at third base, first base and designated player this season. Misiur led the team with 15 doubles, five homeruns and 33 RBI in 2019. She added 28 runs scored, 46 hits and six stolen bases, while posting a .555 slugging percentage. Misiur ranks ninth in the CACC in slugging, second in doubles and tied for ninth in RBI and homeruns.
Sandoval was a CACC Second Team honors for a second straight season. She was a steady force behind the dish this season as she batted .345 and was second on the team with 14 doubles. Sandoval added 26 runs scored, one triple, four homeruns and 32 RBI. She was tied for third in the CACC in doubles and 12th in RBI.
Culver was a steady contributor in the circle in her first collegiate season, earning CACC Second Team honors at pitcher. She posted a 15-14 record with a team-best 2.53 ERA. Culver led the Cougars in innings pitched with 168 2/3 innings, and complete games with 15. She registered 120 strikeouts along with two saves in 33 appearances and 28 starts. Culver was fourth in the CACC in innings pitched, tied for fifth in wins, sixth in strikeouts, tied for sixth in complete games and sixth in ERA.
