NYACK'S SWEET NAMED CACC WOMEN'S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK

NEW HAVEN, CT - Nyack College forward Victoria Sweet has been named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the week ending Sunday, Feb. 7. Devonne Richardson of Goldey-Beacom College was tabbed Rookie of the Week.
Sweet, a 5-10 junior forward who hails from Harlem, NY, led
Nyack to a 2-0 week with
averages of 16.0 points and 13.5 rebounds per-game while shooting
50-percent (10-for-20) from the field. She also hit all 10 of
her free-throw attempts. She posted 18 points and 11 rebounds after
shooting 6-for-12 from the field and 6-for-6 from
the free-throw line in a win at Post. She added 14 points and
16 rebounds in a victory over Concordia.
Richardson, a 5-8 freshman forward from Baltimore, MD, helped lead Goldey-Beacom to a 2-0 week with averages of 16.0 points, 11.0 rebounds and 2.5 steals per-game. She shot 47.8-percent (11-for-23) from the field and 71.4-percent (10-for-14) from the free-throw line. She registered 16 points, nine rebounds and four steals in a win over USP.

Catherine Carr, Holy Family (Jr., F, 5-11, Bedminster, NJ) - In a 3-0 week, averaged 18.0 points, 7.0 rebounds and 4.7 assists per-game.
Janelle Biamonte, Felician (Sr., F, 5-9, Secaucus, NJ) - In a win over Caldwell, registered 21 points, five rebounds and five assists.
Kirsty Leedham, Caldwell (Jr., G, 5-9, Ellesmere Port, England) - Averaged 22.7 points and 4.3 rebounds per-game in a 2-1 week.
Jacinda Jones, Goldey-Beacom (So., G, 5-8, Claymont, DE) - Averaged 16.5 points, 4.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists per-game in a 2-0 week.
Caitlin Shaw, USP (Jr., G, 5-8, Eatontown, NJ) - In two contests, averaged 20.5 points, 8.0 rebounds and 3.5 steals per-game.
CACC Notes
Bloomfield - Bloomfield went 1-1 last week and suffered its first home loss of the season against Holy Family on Sunday. Freshman Dre'Shonda Williams paced the offense for the week, averaging 11.5 points and 2.0 assists per-contest. Tiffany McDaniel was solid down low, posting 10 points and nine rebounds in the win over Dominican. Emily Horrocks, Gretchen Rodrigues and Vanessa Lamison each posted banner performances in the win over Dominican, notching eight points apiece.
Caldwell - The Cougars went 2-1 last week, beating Dominican and Philadelphia at home while losing at Felician. Junior guard Kirsty Leedham scored 22 points and freshman center Gillian Felix tallied 17 points and 12 rebounds in Tuesday's 67-55 win over Dominican. Against Philadelphia on Sunday, Caldwell erased a 17-point second half deficit to earn a come-from-behind victory, 84-73. Leedham had a game-high 28 points to go with six boards and three assists, while freshman guard Torey Jones recorded 18 points, seven boards, three steals and a career-best eight assists. Leedham now has 148 career three-pointers, just one behind the school record of 149 set by Jennifer Carleton from 1999-2003.
Felician - Junior G Tierra Cleaves set a school record with 14 assists in Felician's 79-70 home victory over Caldwell last Thursday. The previous mark of 11 was shared by Diane Burns and assistant coach Suzanne Albert. Senior F/G Janelle Biamonte was voted to the First Team of the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District squads for the second consecutive year.
Georgian Court - GCU was snowed out at Nyack College Saturday afternoon and will now take on the Warriors on Feb. 25 at 7 pm. Freshman Shawna Wert's 25-point performance last Thursday at Philadelphia University was her third 20-plus scoring effort of the season (23, 12/10 vs. Chestnut Hill; 20, 12/16 vs. Cheyney).
Holy Family - Holy Family (20-1, 13-0 CACC) added to both of its winning streaks after earning three road wins last week. The Tigers defeated Georgian Court (70-37), Chestnut Hill (78-41) and Bloomfield (69-52). In the Chestnut Hill win, forward Erin Mann poured in a career-best 23 points in a reserve effort. Forward Catherine Carr netted 23 points help knock off Bloomfield in a battle of division leaders. The Tigers have now won 20 straight contests and 97 consecutive regular season CACC games. Holy Family is currently second in the NCAA Division II East Region Rankings and 17th in the USA Today/ESPN Coaches Poll. Carr is third in the CACC in scoring with 17.8 points per game. The Tigers are first in the conference in scoring offense, scoring defense, scoring margin, free throw percentage, field goal percentage, field goal percentage defense, rebounding offense, rebounding defense, rebounding margin, assists and assist-to-turnover ratio. This week, the team hosts Philadelphia (Thursday) and Post (Saturday).
Philadelphia - The Lady Rams were 1-1 last week, winning against Georgian Court University and falling to Caldwell College. The team will play three CACC contests this week.
Post - Post University's Aubrey Latham is shooting 49-60 (81.66%) from the free throw line as a freshman. She has had seven games shooting 100% from the charity stripe of the 19 she has played this season. Over the past five games, Latham has not missed a free throw by shooting a perfect 14-of-14. The last time she missed a free throw was on January 19th on the road against Concordia when Latham shot 3-of-4 from the line. In addition, Latham is second in the CACC in free throw percentage in conference play, shooting 31-of-35 (88.6%)
USP - Junior Melissa Rotz (Harrisburg, Pa.) and senior Erin Chesnavich (Pittston, Pa.) were named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Team last week. Rotz earned second team honors while Chesnavich was named to the third team. This is the second consecutive year Rotz and Chesnavich were named to the Academic All-District team. Junior Caitlin Shaw (Eatontown, N.J.) recorded her third consecutive double-double vs. Wilmington last week, giving her five for the season (tied for team lead). Shaw had a career-high six steals vs. Goldey-Beacom. Shaw ranks third in the CACC in FG% (53.6%) while teammate Erin Chesnavich still leads the CACC in FG% (62%) despite missing the last four games due to injury. As a team the Devils rank 71st nationally in field goal percentage (42%).
