GEORGIAN COURT AND PHILADELPHIA TO CLASH FOR CACC WOMEN'S LACROSSE CHAMPIONSHIP

LAKEWOOD, NJ - Top seeded Georgian Court University and No. 2 Philadelphia University will clash for the first-ever Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women's Lacrosse Championship Sunday at 1:00 pm after at Georgian Court. The Lions disposed of No. 4 Wilmington University, 23-7, to reach the final, while the Lady Rams upended No. 3 Chestnut Hill College, 16-7.

Laura Housel gave the Lions a 1-0 lead less than a minute into the game (29:41) when she scored on a Ryan McGrath assist. GCU would go on to score nine more unanswered goals before Wilmington's Kelly Wojciechowski put the Wildcats on the board with 11:45 remaining in the first half.

GCU came our roaring in the second stanza, increasing its advantage to 17-1 with goals from McGrath (26:13 remaining) and Kara Sanford (24:25 remaining).

Lauren Conaty, Daryl Carr and McGrath registered hat tricks for GCU. Alley Abbate, Shannon Mastrogiovanni, Amanda Dilger and Christine Flaherty scored two goals apiece. 

Jessica Graybeal and Danielle Niccoli each scored two goals to lead the Wildcats.

GCU netminder, Christine Latteri made three saves in 35:31 to improve to 15-2 on the year.

Amanda Smith denied 11 Georgian Court shot attempts in the complete game defeat for Wilmington.

Sophomore Michelle O'Hanlon and Caribeth Shappell led Philadelphia with three goals apiece in the victory over Chestnut Hill. Shappell also dished out three assists.

The Lady Rams came out fast and led 3-0 just over six minutes into the contest. The Griffins came back to score the next two goals, but Philadelphia would tally eight of the next nine goals in the game to grab a 11-3 lead five minutes into the second stanza. The Lady Rams led at halftime, 8-2.

Maryanne Glass led Chestnut Hill with three goals, while her sister, Carley, found the back of the net twice.

CACC Player of the Year, Katherine Sullivan, stopped 11 shots in net for the Lady Rams, while Chelsea Osborne came up with 20 saves for the Griffins.
