2007 CACC Women's Tennis Weekly Award Winners

September 4

Player of the Week: Maddie Smith, Philadelphia (Sr., Bethlehem, PA) - Scored two wins at No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles in a 2-0 week for the Lady Rams. She won singles matches against Goldey-Beacom (6-2, 6-1) and Adelphi (6-0, 6-1).

Rookie of the Week: Nikki Schlegel, Georgian Court (Fr., Toms River, NJ) - Picked up a win at No. 1 singles against Adelphi (6-3, 6-1) and also earned a victory at No. 2 doubles against the Panthers by an 8-6 count.

September 10

Player of the Week: Lauren Neill, Holy Family (Sr., Smith, AL) - Went undefeated at No. 1 singles and No. 2 doubles last week against Philadelphia and Chestnut Hill. She defeated Lady Ram Maddie Smith, 6-4, 6-1, and won her Chestnut Hill singles match, 6-0, 6-0.

Rookie of the Week: Zahra Hasan, USP (Fr., East Setauket, NY) - Went 2-0 at No. 3 singles last week, recording a 6-2, 6-0 win vs. Arcadia and a 6-1, 7-5 win vs. Caldwell. She also picked up two wins at No. 2 doubles.

September 17

Co-Players of the Week: Maddie Smith, Philadelphia (Sr., Bethlehem, PA) and Amanda Bedway, USP (Sr., Orwigsburg, PA) - Smith went 2-0 at No. 1 singles and doubles last week. She won her singles matches by scores of 6-1, 6-0 over Cabrini and 6-2, 6-2 over Georgian Court. Her doubles team won by counts of 8-4 and 8-2.

Bedway, a senior from Orwigsburg, PA, won her singles match against Eastern University, 6-0 and 6-1, and added a 6-3, 6-0 win versus Chestnut Hill. Her doubles team won by scores of 8-1 and 8-2.

Rookie of the Week: Adriana Rodriguez, Philadelphai (Fr., San Juan, Puerto Rico) - Went 2-0 last week at No. 3 singles and No. 1 doubles. She won her singles matches against Cabrini, 6-2, 6-3 and Georgian Court, 6-2, 6-1. She teamed with Smith for her two doubles wins.

September 24

Player of the Week: Luisiana Souto, Goldey-Beacom (Fr., 5-4, Caracas, Venezuela) - Won all three of her No. 1 singles matches last week against USP, Chestnut Hill College and Post University. She also went 2-1 at No. 1 doubles.

Rookie of the Week: Adriana Rodriguez, Philadelphia (Fr., San Juan, Puerto Rico) - Won both of her matches against Holy Family at No. 3 singles and No.1 doubles. Also won her first two singles matches at the ITA Regionals before falling in the quarterfinals in the "A" bracket.

October 1

Player of the Week: Katie Stracquatanio, Philadelphia (Sr., Lawrenceville, NJ) - Went 3-0 at No. 3/4 singles and 2-0 at No. 3 doubles for the week as the Rams won three matches. Earned her wins against Kutztown, La Salle and Arcadia.

Rookie of the Week: Luisiana Souto, Goldey-Beacom (Fr., Caracas, Venezuela) - Compiled a 2-0 record at No. 1 singles against Neumann and Holy Family. She also went 1-1 at No. 1 doubles.

October 8

Player of the Week: Maddie Smith, Philadelphia (Sr., Bethlehem, PA) - Went 4-0 at both No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles in a 4-0 week for the Lady Rams. She also broke the school record for career victories, and now has 125 in her career.

Rookie of the Week: Adriana Rodriguez, Philadelphia (Fr., San Juan, Puerto Rico) - Compiled a perfect combined 8-0 record at No. 2 singles and No. 1 doubles last week. Won both singles and doubles against Caldwell, Chestnut Hill, USP and Post.
