2006 CACC Volleyball Weekly Award Winners
September 5
Player of the Week: Emily Krauss, Philadelphia (Jr., OH, Stormville, NY/Carmel) - Krauss earned All-Tournament honors at the USP "Dance in the Devil's Den " Tournament. She averaged 3.69 kills, 2.54 digs and 0.23 aces per-game in a 3-1 week. Her best effort was an 18-kill, eight-dig, two-ace performance against Southern N.H.
Rookie of the Week: Andrea Cardine, USP (Fr., OPP, Temple, PA/Reading Central Catholic) - Cardine averaged 2.55 kills, 2.55 digs and 0.27 blocks per-game for the week. She notched two double-doubles with 11 kills and 11 digs against Salem International and 11 kills and 10 digs against Southern N.H.
September 11
Player of the Week: Emily Krauss, Philadelphia (Jr., OH, Stormville, NY/Carmel) - Averaged 4.89 kills per-game at a .358 attack percentage last week, along with 2.89 digs and 0.89 aces per-game in a 3-0 week for the Rams. Notched 19 kills and 16 digs against Point Park.
Rookie of the Week: Celena Rendon, Philadelphia (Fr., OH, 5-11, San Antonio, TX/Tom C. Clark) - Had 12 kills and 14 digs against Point Park and averaged 2.78 kills and 3.00 digs per-game for the week. Added 0.33 aces and 0.33 blocks per-game.
September 18
Player of the Week: Ursula Pereria, Bloomfield (So., MB, 5-11, Brazil/Newark Eastside) - Pereria averaged 6.18 kills and 3.09 digs per-game with a .338 attack percentage in a 2-1 week for the Deacons. She wrapped up the week with a 34-kill, 17-dig performance against Goldey-Beacom.
Rookie of the Week: Katie Mason, Wilmington (Fr., MH, 5-10, Avon Grove, PA) - Mason posted 2.77 kills, 2.23 digs and 1.38 blocks per-game in a 2-1 week for the Wildcats. She recorded two double-doubles, including 12 kills, 11 digs and eight blocks against Holy Family.
September 25
Player of the Week: Billeny Rivera, Georgian Court (So., OH, 5-7, Toa Baja, Puerto Rico) - Rivera averaged 3.44 kills and 2.50 digs with a .338 attack percentage in a 3-0 week for the Lions. She had 15 kills, five digs and four block solos against Goldey-Beacom and nine kills and 14 digs against Nyack.
Rookie of the Week: Celena Rendon, Philadelphia (Fr., OH, 5-11, San Antonio, TX/Tom C. Clark) - Rendon averaged 4.67 kills and 2.33 digs per-game with a .442 attack percentage in a 2-0 week. She notched a career-high 19 kills against Wilmington.
October 2
Player of the Week: Angie Casado, Georgian Court (So., OH, 5-5, Brick, NJ/Brick Twp.) - Posted averages of 5.21 kills and 2.86 digs per-game with a .333 attack percentage in a 4-0 week for the Lions. Recorded 25 kills and 13 digs in a victory over Bloomfield on Saturday and added 23 kills and 15 digs later that day against Molloy.
Rookie of the Week: Ursula Pereira, Bloomfield (So., MB, 5-11, Brazil, Newark Eastside) - Tallied 4.9 kills and 2.60 digs per-game to go with a .330 attack percentage in a 2-1 week for the Lady Deacons. Had 16 kills and 10 digs against Nyack.
October 9
Player of the Week: Jen O'Connor, Holy Family (So., Wilmington, DE) - O'Connor posted averages of 5.2 kills and 6.3 digs per-game in four matches last week. She registered a season-high 25 kills against Wilmington on Monday and added 18 kills and 16 digs in a victory over Nyack on Saturday.
Rookie of the Week: Ursula Pereira, Bloomfield (So., Brazil) - Averaged 5.67 kills and 3.89 digs per-game in a 3-0 week for the Lady Deacons. She also contributed 1.22 service aces per-game and sported a .343 attack percentage. She recorded 20 kills and 15 digs against USP and added 15 kills and 12 digs versus Dominican.
October 16
Player of the Week: Sonia Perez, Bloomfield (So., Setter, 5-3, Costa Rica/Hackensack) - Led the Lady Deacons to a 3-0 week by averaging 14.22 assists and 2.44 digs per-game. Also had a .375 attack percentage. Tied a school record for assists in a 3-game match with 45 against Caldwell and then set a new mark with 50 against Holy Family.
Co-Rookies of the Week: Ursula Pereira, Bloomfield (So., MB, 5-11, Brazil/Newark Eastside) and Celena Rendon, Philadelphia (Fr., OH, 5-11, San Antonio, TX/Tom C. Clark) - Pereira averaged 5.38 kills and 3.50 digs per-game and Rendon averaged 3.67 kills and 3.67 digs. Both helped their teams go 3-0 during the week.
October 23
Player of the Week: Emily Krauss, Philadelphia (Jr., OH, 5-9, Stormville, NY/Carmel) - Averaged 3.44 kills and 3.78 digs per-game in a 3-0 week. Finished the week with 10 kills and 20 digs in a sweep of Holy Family. Also notched a double-double against Philadelphia Bible.
Rookie of the Week: Ursula Pereira, Bloomfield (So., MB, 5-11, Brazil/Newark Eastside) - Posted averages of 5.17 kills and 3.67 digs per-game in a 3-0 week. Also hit at a .296 percentage.
October 30
Player of the Week: Emily Krauss, Philadelphia (Jr., OH, 5-9, Stormville, NY/Carmel) - Averaged 4.00 kills and 3.64 digs per-game in a 3-1 week. Helped the Rams to a key victory over Bloomfield with 22 kills, with only five errors, and 15 digs. Added a match-high 13 kills in a victory over USP.
Rookie of the Week: Celena Rendon, Philadelphia (Fr., OH, 5-11, San Antonio, TX/Tom C. Clark) - Posted averages of 2.64 kills and 3.57 digs per-game in a 3-1 week. Had 12 kills and 18 digs against Kutztown.
