The 2013 Wildcats became the first cross country team in the NCAA era to sweep the CACC Championship individual standings -- going first through fifth place -- to earn the lowest possible score at a meet with 15 team points. That performance carried over into the NCAA East Region Championship as WilmU finished third to qualify for the NCAA Division II National Championship. Back at the CACC Championship, all seven Wildcat runners placed among the top 15 to earn all-conference status. Wilmington swept the CACC Runner of the Year (Richie Mitten, 1st Place @ CACC), Rookie of the Year (Ken Fontal, 5th Place @ CACC) and Coach of the Year awards (Keith Jones). The other five Wildcat runners to earn All-CACC status by finishing among the top 15 included Jesus Amezquita (2nd place); Tyler Muse (3rd place); Mike O'Brien (4th place); Marshall Hawkins (10th place); and Matt Mossman (14th place). Mitten, Amezquita and O'Brien finished sixth, 12th and 25th, respectively, at the NCAA regional to earn All-East Region honors. The Wildcats won three meets overall during the 2013 campaign.
