NEW HAVEN, Conn. (July 25, 2025) – Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference member Goldey-Beacom College has qualified for the 2024-25 Women’s Basketball Coaches Association Division II Academic Top 25 Team Honor Roll. The WBCA released its Team Honor Rolls for all levels of women’s basketball on Tuesday.
The WBCA Academic Top 25 recognizes college women’s basketball teams across the United States in their respective divisions that carry the highest combined grade-point averages inclusive of all student-athletes on their rosters for the entire season. Goldey-Beacom produced a team GPA of 3.702, good for 22nd in NCAA Division II. The Lightning are coached by Bethann Burke.
GBC is the only CACC team in the Top 25 and one of only two from the East Region (Southern New Hampshire University, 20th). Three other CACC programs received Special Mention by having a team GPA for the season of at least 3.000 – Caldwell University (3.633), Chestnut Hill College (3.626), and the University of Bridgeport (3.407).
Founded in 1961, the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference has been affiliated with NCAA Division II for 20 years. Conference institutions compete for championships in 17 sports – seven for men, nine for women, and one co-ed. The CACC contains 11 full members in Connecticut, Delaware, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. Membership includes the University of Bridgeport, Caldwell University, Chestnut Hill College, Dominican University New York, Felician University, Georgian Court University, Goldey-Beacom College, Holy Family University, Post University, Thomas Jefferson University, and Wilmington University.
