CACC Mourns Loss of Wilmington SID Dan Lauletta

Veteran Publicist Passed Away Suddenly Last Weekend at Age 39

The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference joins the Lauletta family and the Wilmington University community in mourning the loss of Dan Lauletta. Wilmington's Coordinator of Sports Information for nearly 15 years, Lauletta passed away suddenly last weekend following a medical emergency at age 39.

Dan was the ultimate professional. He publicized several Wilmington conference and regional championships and national tournament appearances, and always made sure Wildcat student-athletes were promoted positively and nominated for pertinent awards. He represented Wilmington on several regional and national committees and voting boards.

But he did his work with a human touch, treating opposing student-athletes, coaches, and SIDs with respect. And off the fields of play, Dan was a trusted friend. He was quick with a tip, a favor, or just a listening ear. He touched many lives not only at Wilmington but across the CACC and the East Region.

Our thoughts are with our colleagues at Wilmington, within the CACC athletics communications council, and with all who knew and worked with Dan. We also mourn for his family, especially his wife, Rachel, and young children, Joey and Peyton. A GoFundMe has been set up to support the family in this time of need.
