Jefferson Women's Soccer Up One Spot, Bridgeport Holds, in Latest NPI Rankings

CACC Duo Among Top Five in D-II East Region

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (October 21, 2026) – Thomas Jefferson University moved up one spot to third in the East Region and the University of Bridgeport held at No. 5 in the latest Division II Women’s Soccer NCAA Power Index (NPI) rankings released on Monday.

The NCAA Power Index is a ranking system used to evaluate team performance. NPI considers both a team’s results and the strength of the teams it plays. Sport committees establish settings, referred to as dials, that determine how certain factors are applied within the NPI calculation.

Division II is using NPI for ranking and NCAA Championship selection for the first time in 2026-27. NPI rankings for soccer will be released again on Oct. 26, after which they will be updated daily (Monday-Friday).

Jefferson is 10-1-2 overall and is in first place in the CACC with 27 points (9-0-0). Bridgeport boasts a 9-1-5 overall won-lost-tied record and sits second in the conference with 25 points (8-0-1). The Rams and Purple Knights meet on Thursday in Philadelphia, Pa., in their lone regular-season matchup.

The NCAA will announce the 56-team field for the 2026 Division II Women’s Soccer Championship on Monday, November 9. The East Region will receive automatic qualifiers from the CACC, East Coast Conference, and Northeast 10 Conference plus three at-large berths.
