NEW HAVEN, Conn. (July 24, 2026) – Four Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference women’s volleyball teams – the University of Bridgeport, Chestnut Hill College, Holy Family University, and Wilmington University – have been honored with the 2026 American Volleyball Coaches Association Team Academic Award, the AVCA announced on Thursday.

The AVCA bestows its Team Academic Award upon collegiate and high school volleyball teams that maintain a year-long grade-point average of at least 3.3 on a 4.0 scale (or 4.1 on a 5.0 scale). The association recognized 1,432 such programs for the 2025-26 academic year.

Teams that have received the award for 10 or more consecutive years are highlighted on the list of honorees for their consistent commitment to academics. Holy Family reached a 10-year win streak with its 2026 honor.

Founded in 1961, the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference has been affiliated with NCAA Division II for 21 years. Conference institutions compete for championships in 18 sports – seven for men, 10 for women, and one co-ed. The CACC contains 11 full members in Connecticut, Delaware, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. Membership includes the University of Bridgeport, Caldwell University, Chestnut Hill College, Dominican University New York, Felician University, Georgian Court University, Goldey-Beacom College, Holy Family University, Post University, Thomas Jefferson University, and Wilmington University.
