Jefferson's Capuano Named CACC Student-Athlete of the Month

Junior Cross-Country Standout Claims September 2024 Honor

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Thomas Jefferson University women’s cross-country runner Annalee Capuano has been named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Student-Athlete of the Month for September 2024, CACC Commissioner Dan Mara announced today. Capuano earned the award for demonstrating success on the course during the month, while also being a standout in the classroom and giving back to her community.

Capuano, a junior from Rochester, N.Y., won the CACC Runner of the Week award three times in September. The top finisher for the Rams in each race thus far this season, she was the individual champion at the Philadelphia Cross Classic on September 7.

A two-time all-conference runner, Capuano was the 2022 CACC Rookie of the Year. She also earned USTFCCCA All-Region honors during her freshman 2022 season.

Academically, Capuano maintains a 3.76 cumulative grade-point average while majoring in fashion design. She was a member of the 2023 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team and is a two-time USTFCCCA All-Academic Individual.

Capuano volunteered to assist with the production of the Belmont Hall of Fame Classic, an annual 5,000-meter race to support the mission of the Belmont Plateau Hall of Fame -- including the promotion of running for health to the youth of Philadelphia. She will also be a volunteer at a water stop at the upcoming Philadelphia Marathon.

Capuano is the first monthly honoree for the 2024-25 academic year. The CACC Student-Athlete of the Month Awarded is handed out from September to May and recognizes one student-athlete from any sport active during that month.
