GCU's Lavezzo, Jefferson's Yeager on Second Team; Rams' Riddel Makes Third Team

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (December 11, 2024) – Three student-athletes from the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference were selected to the 2024 Division 2 Conference Commissioners Association Women’s Soccer All-America Teams, the D2 CCA announced on Tuesday. Directors of athletics communications from NCAA Division II institutions and conference offices conducted the voting for the teams.

Georgian Court University freshman forward Chelsea Lavezzo and Thomas Jefferson University junior defender Carly Yeager were chosen for the All-America Second Team. Jefferson senior goalkeeper Liv Riddel was a Third-Team Honoree.

Lavezzo, from Jackson, N.J., was the 2024 CACC Rookie of the Year and the D2 CCA East Region Player of the Year. She led the CACC in goals (17), points (36), shots (75) and game-winning goals (6). Her total of 0.85 goals per game ranked fourth nationally in Division II. Lavezzo helped GCU to a 12-6-2 overall won-lost-tied record and a trip to the CACC semifinals.

Yeager and Riddel were major parts of a Jefferson defense that finished seventh in the country in team goals-against average (0.43) and 15th in shutout percentage (.609, 14 of 23). Yeager, of Cinnaminson, N.J., was chosen as the CACC Defensive Player of the Year as the Rams won the conference championship and reached the NCAA Round of 16 for the first time.

Riddel, from Jerrabomberra, Australia, was named the CACC Goalkeeper of the Year. She finished seventh nationally in save percentage (.892) and eighth in goals-against average (0.44) while posting 11 solo and three shared shutouts. Riddel and the Rams owed a record of 19-1-3.

The D2 CCA All-America process began at the regional level, with all first-team all-region picks advancing to the national ballot. A total of 39 student-athletes representing 30 institutions filled out the three All-America teams.
