Constitution State Rivals to Meet for 2025 CACC Men's Soccer Crown

Post, Bridgeport Advance to Championship Final for 2023 Rematch

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (November 12, 2025) – No. 1 seed Post University and No. 2 seed University of Bridgeport have advanced to the championship final of the 2025 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Men’s Soccer Championship tournament. The match will be hosted by Post on Saturday at 3 p.m. at LaMoy Field in Waterbury, Conn.

Tournament information is available at the CACC Championship Central webpage.

Post reached the final by defeating No. 5 seed Holy Family University, 3-0, in semifinal action on Wednesday afternoon in Waterbury. Bridgeport, meanwhile, earned a 4-2 penalty-kick shootout victory over No. 3 seed Wilmington University after the sides played to a 110-minute 2-2 tie in Bridgeport, Conn. Saturday’s winner will not only raise the CACC championship banner but will also earn the conference’s automatic berth into the NCAA Division II Super-Region 1 Championship tournament.

Post, the predetermined 2025 championship game host, will be appearing in the CACC final for the seventh consecutive season in which it has participated. The Eagles did not field a team during the abbreviated Spring 2021 campaign coming out of the COVID-19 public health crisis. Overall, Post seeks its seventh CACC championship as an NCAA member. Bridgeport is in its fourth year in the CACC and is playing in its second title game. The Eagles and Purple Knights met in the 2023 final in Bridgeport, with Post coming away victorious, 3-1.

Tickets for the 2025 CACC Men’s Soccer Championship final are $10 for adults, and $5 for children, senior citizens (65+) and students with valid identification. Children under three years of age will be admitted free. Tickets can be purchased in advance at https://events.hometownticketing.com/boxoffice/caccathletics.

No. 2 BRIDGEPORT 2, No. 3 WILMINGTON 2 (2 OT) (Bridgeport advances on PKs, 4-2)
