NEW HAVEN, Conn. (July 17, 2025) – The winners of the 2024-25 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Team GPA Awards were announced on Thursday by CACC Commissioner Dan Mara. The awards were bestowed upon the programs with the highest team grade-point average for the academic year in each of the CACC’s 16 championship sports.
Seven different member schools earned at least one CACC Team GPA Award in 2024-25, with Post University leading the conference with seven. Thomas Jefferson University claimed three honors and Felician University captured two. Earning one Team GPA Award apiece were the University of Bridgeport, Georgian Court University, Goldey-Beacom College and Holy Family University.
Three Team GPA Award winners also captured this year’s conference championship in their sport. That group included Jefferson women’s cross-country, Holy Family women’s basketball, and Felician women’s bowling.
“The CACC Team GPA Award demonstrates a commitment to academic success across a team’s entire roster,” Mara said. “The award illustrates a coach’s commitment to their student-athletes performing well in the classroom and the team’s upper class leadership mentoring the underclassmen to make sure they are committed to their studies.”
League-wide, 80.1 percent of teams (129 of 161) that met NCAA sport-sponsorship standards produced a GPA of 3.00 or better for the 2024-25 campaign. Three sports – women’s soccer, women’s tennis and women’s volleyball – saw all competing teams achieve a mark of 3.00 or higher. Institutionally, all 14 of Holy Family’s CACC squads turned in GPAs above 3.00. Jefferson (13 of 14) and Chestnut Hill College (13 of 14) placed all but one team above that mark.
