Wilmington to Host CACC Lacrosse Finals for First Time in 2026

Conference Championship Tournaments to Conclude at WU Athletics Complex

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (July 31, 2025) – The 2026 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Men’s and Women’s Lacrosse Championship finals will be hosted by Wilmington University on Saturday, May 2, at the Wilmington University Athletics Complex in Newark, Del.

For the second consecutive year, only the CACC championship finals will be held at the host site. The first round and semifinals of each single-elimination tournament will take place at the campus sites of the higher seeds, culminating with the pair of title games at Wilmington. While the Wildcats have hosted CACC Championships in several other sports, they will be welcoming the conference lacrosse finalists for the first time.

“Wilmington University is excited to host the CACC Lacrosse Championships at the WU Athletics Complex,” said Wilmington Director of Athletics Dr. Stefanie Whitby. “The Complex is an excellent facility to host such an event with a premium playing surface, plenty of up-close seating, and room to watch great lacrosse. Our staff works hard to put on a great weekend, and we’re excited to host lacrosse for the first time.”

The men’s tournament is a five-team event while the women’s tournament will be a six-team field, both based on the regular-season standings. On the men’s side, one first-round game will take place on April 25, with the semifinals scheduled for April 29. Two first-round women’s contests will occur on April 28, and the semis will follow on April 30.

Dominican University New York followed an undefeated CACC regular season to capture the 2025 women’s lacrosse championship, topping Thomas Jefferson University in the final. The Georgian Court University men edged Wilmington to take last year’s crown. With their victories, the Charger women and Lion men claimed the CACC’s initial automatic qualifiers to their respective NCAA Division II Championships, an honor that will also be bestowed upon both 2026 CACC champions.

Admission for all rounds of the championships is $10 for adults and $5 for children, students, and senior citizens. The CACC Network will also provide live coverage of all games.
