CACC MEN’S SOCCER – September 22, 2025

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

HUGO GUTIERREZ, Holy Family (JR, M/F, Valladolid, Spain) – During his team’s only action of the week, scored twice in a 26-second span of the 72nd minute to help the Tigers overcome a two-goal deficit and gain a 2-2 road draw with No. 16 Wilmington. The Sept. 17 match was both sides’ 2025 CACC opener.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

JACQUES MASON, Wilmington (FR, M, Monrovia, Liberia) – Lifted the No. 16 Wildcats to a comeback win over Dominican on Saturday and a 1-0-1 week with a tiebreaking goal in the 88th minute.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

PEDRO VERCOSA, Post (FR, D, Philadelphia, Pa.) – Played all 180 minutes on the back line as the Eagles tied received-votes nationally Gannon, 1-1, on Sept. 16 and opened CACC play with Saturday’s 1-0 victory at Jefferson. Tallied the game’s only goal against the Rams.

GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK

LEOPOLD DUFAUT, Post (JR, GK, Paris, France) – Made five saves in each game and played to a 0.50 goals-against average during a 1-0-1 week. Faced 31 total shots as the Eagles tied Gannon, 1-1 on Sept. 16 and topped Jefferson, 1-0, on Saturday.

 

HONOR ROLL

MOHAMED BILITY, Chestnut Hill – Enjoyed his second multi-goal game of 2025 with a brace in a win over Goldey-Beacom.
SAMUEL DUNDAS, Bridgeport – Pushed up from the back line to notch a goal during each match of the Purple Knights’ 1-1 week.
THEO FAILLON, Wilmington – Returned from injury to record two goals and an assist during a 1-0-1 week for the Wildcats.
JUSTIN TALBOT, Caldwell – Made 10 total saves during a 1-1 week, which included a shutout of Goldey-Beacom. Handed out first career assist during loss to Dominican.
MATHEUS XAVIER, Dominican – Turned in two goals and an assist during the Chargers’ 1-1 week including the 87th-minute game-winner versus Caldwell.
BARTU YAKKAN, Felician – Totaled a goal and two assists as No. 22 Felician topped Chestnut Hill.
