NEW HAVEN, Conn. (November 3, 2026) – No. 5 seed University of Bridgeport and No. 6 seed Georgian Court University have advanced to the championship final of the 2026 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Men’s Soccer Championship tournament. The match will be hosted by Wilmington University on Saturday at 10 a.m. at the WilmU Athletics Complex in Newark, Del.
Tournament information is available at the CACC Championship Central webpage.
Bridgeport, the tournament’s defending champion, returned to the final by winning its second consecutive road game. The Purple Knights eliminated No. 1 seed Wilmington, 4-2, in semifinal action on Tuesday afternoon in Newark. Georgian Court, meanwhile, got past No. 7 seed Post University, 2-1, in Lakewood, N.J., ending the Eagles’ streak of seven consecutive trips to the final. Saturday’s winner will not only raise the CACC championship banner but also earn the conference’s automatic berth into the NCAA Division-II Super-Region 1 Championship tournament.
Bridgeport is appearing in the final for the third time in its five years as a CACC member and seeks its second championship. The Lions, whose program history dates back to 2013, will also be playing in their third CACC final. GCU’s only conference title came in 2016. The teams’ 2026 regular-season meeting was on Oct. 10 in Lakewood, with UB earning a 3-1 victory.
Tickets for the 2026 CACC Men’s Soccer Championship final are $10 for adults and $5 for children, senior citizens (65+) and students with valid identification. Children under three years of age will be admitted free. Tickets can be purchased in advance at https://events.hometownticketing.com/boxoffice/caccathletics.
No. 5 BRIDGEPORT 4, No. 1 WILMINGTON 2
Wilmington played into some back luck, scoring an own goal just 25 seconds into the match. Another Wildcat own goal in the 19th minute put the hosts into a deep hole, and the Purple Knights (9-7-3) took full control when Pablo Marques found the net just 2:33 later. Wilmington was unable to leverage advantages of 21-5 in shots and 8-0 in corner kicks. Kristians Prieditis finished with a goal and an assist for UB, as did Matthew Yi for the Wildcats (10-5-5).
No. 6 GEORGIAN COURT 2, No. 7 POST 1
The first collegiate goal for Nicholas Damiano proved to be the difference for the Lions (11-6-3). Damiano tapped in a rebound of his own saved shot during the 73rd minute to break a 1-1 tie. The game had been even since midway through the opening period. Gijs van Eif notched the other Georgian Court goal on a penalty kick, while Eliass Elfasoukhi scored for the Eagles (6-7-6).
