Jefferson Back in Front for Women's Restaino Cup after Winter 2025-26

Rams Look to Defend Title for CACC All-Sport Supremacy

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (March 25, 2026) – Thomas Jefferson University leads the women’s standings following the winter athletics season in the race for the 2025-26 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Alfred R. Restaino Sr. Cup, CACC Commissioner Dan Mara announced today. Jefferson moved up a spot to pass fall leader Wilmington University

The Restaino Cup is handed out based on institutions’ performances across all CACC championship sports, with one Cup awarded for each gender. The point system used considers each program’s finish in both the 2025-26 regular-season standings and conference championship tournaments. Each school’s point total is compared to the number of points it was possible for it to earn, and the standings are based on that percentage.

The award is named after the late Bloomfield College coach and director of athletics Alfred R. Restaino Sr., who served a vital role not only in the development of Bloomfield’s athletics department, but in the enhancement of the CACC. Restaino was inducted into the CACC Hall of Fame in 2015.

Jefferson, the 2024-25 champion, has earned 70.27 percent of possible women’s points. The Rams earned the conference championship in cross country and claimed regular-season titles in soccer and tennis.

Lifted by a conference championship in basketball and a runner-up finish in bowling, Felician University moved up five spots to second place after the winter season. Felician has claimed 63.70 percent of available points. Fall leader and soccer and tennis champion Wilmington sits third at 61.31 percent.

Jefferson has won the women’s Restaino Cup on 12 occasions, including each of the last four.
