Dominican Bowling Assigned to NCAA Rochester Regional

CACC Champion to Face Alabama A&M in Play-In

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (March 26, 2026) – Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference women’s bowling champion Dominican University New York has been assigned to the Rochester (New York) Regional of the 2026 NCAA National Collegiate Women’s Bowling Championship. The 19-team field for the Championship was announced by the NCAA on Wednesday afternoon.

By capturing the CACC Championship tournament last weekend, Dominican claimed the conference’s automatic berth into the NCAA National Collegiate Women’s Bowling Championship. The Rochester Regional will be held Thursday through Saturday, April 2-4, at ABC Gates Bown in Gates, N.Y., and is being hosted by Roberts Wesleyan University and the Rochester Sports Commission.

The five-team Rochester Regional will be contested in a mega-match format. The Chargers (70-32) will compete in a play-in match on Apr. 2 at 9 a.m. against Southwestern Athletic Conference champion Alabama A&M University. The winner moves on to the four-team double-elimination draw and a meeting with the tournament’s overall No. 2 seed and No. 2 nationally-ranked Vanderbilt University.

The other Rochester Regional participants are No. 8-ranked Maryville University and No. 9 Sam Houston State University. The regional champion advances to the 2026 National Collegiate Women’s Bowling Championship in Parma Heights, Ohio, from April 10-11.

Dominican defeated Felician University, 2-0, in the mega-match final of the CACC Championship on March 22. A third-year program, the Chargers are making their first NCAA Tournament appearance.

 

Founded in 1961, the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference has been affiliated with NCAA Division II for 20 years. Conference institutions compete for championships in 17 sports – seven for men, nine for women, and one co-ed. The CACC contains 11 full members in Connecticut, Delaware, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. Membership includes the University of Bridgeport, Caldwell University, Chestnut Hill College, Dominican University New York, Felician University, Georgian Court University, Goldey-Beacom College, Holy Family University, Post University, Thomas Jefferson University, and Wilmington University.
