CACC Names Kelsey Lengyel-Jacovich as New Assistant Commissioner

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (July 25, 2024) – The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) has named Kelsey Lengyel-Jacovich as its new Assistant Commissioner as announced by Commissioner Dan Mara. 

Lengyel-Jacovich has served in various part-time roles periodically over the past 13 years with the CACC; including an internship during her senior year at Post University and for the past five months as the interim Assistant Commissioner. 

"We are pleased to welcome Kelsey to the conference office full-time," said Commissioner Mara. "She has great experience in the CACC as a student-athlete, intern in the office, working part-time and as an interim office member on more than one occasion. She's familiar with the universities' missions and the student-athletes' needs. She has a broad range of skills which will make her very effective in the Assistant Commissioner role."

Lengyel-Jacovich is a graduate of Post where she played tennis, baskeball and softball. In 2009 and 2010 she was Post's Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year. In 2010, she was named Women's Tennis Most Valuable Player. In 2011, she was a NCAA Woman of the Year Nominee and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a BA in Psychology and BS in Sports Management. Lengyel-Jacovich got her Master of Science in Kinesiology, Concentration in Sport & Exercise Psychology from Springfield College. While at Springfield College, Lengyel-Jacovich was a graduate assistant for the women's basketball and softball teams, head coach of the junior varsity women's basketball team, and served as graduate supervisor of athletic events. 

"The CACC and I go way back to my scholar-athlete days at Post University and my undergraduate internship with Commissioner Mara and the CACC Team," said Lengyel-Jacovich. "Since 2009, I have been blessed to experience it as an athlete, a student of athletic administration and sports management, a part-time office staff member and now, the CACC's Assistant Commissioner. I am excited to continue to watch the professional and personal connections I have built over the years flourish and expand further across member institutions. I am looking forward to the incredible opportunity to become a full-time, dedicated and active participant in navigating the exciting future and new developments that lie ahead for our student-athletes and families, coaches, administrators, and Conference in this dynamic landscape of college athletics."

Lengyel-Jacovich also has expansive professional experience. From 2014-2020, she was a Adjunct Professor of Sports Management at Post. In January of 2023, Lengyel-Jacovich returned to being an Adjunct Professor at Connecticut College where she taught Sports & Exercise Psychology. Also at Connecticut College, she was the Manager of Athletic Events, Facilities & Recreation from 2015 to 2021, which came after being promoted from her position as Coordinator of Athletic Operations. Since 2022, she has been an Assistant Varsity and Junior Varsity Football Coach at Choate Rosemary Hall. In 2023, her team won the New England Preparatory School Athletic Conference. In 2022, Lengyel-Jacovich founded The Goat & The Stone where she is a Mental Performance and Holistic Life Coach, here she coaches teams and individuals on excelling mentally.
