NEW HAVEN, Conn. (Aug.7, 2024) – The 2025 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Baseball Championship will be hosted by Wilmington University from May 8-10, 2025. The championship will take place at Wilson Field at Jim Sherman Sr. Stadium in New Castle, Del.
The championship has been expanded to eight teams. The top-four teams from both the North and South Divisions will advance to the championship. The action starts Friday, May 2 with the first round which now involves all schools and remains a best-of-three series. First-round matchups will stay in division with the one seeds hosting the four seeds and the two seeds hosting the three seeds. Friday will feature a doubleheader in each series and Saturday will feature an “if necessary” game three if there is a split of Friday’s doubleheader. The four teams that win in the first round will advance to the double-elimination tournament in Delaware. The night before the double-elimination tournament begins, Wednesday, May 7, is the CACC championship banquet to honor the teams in attendance and the season’s award winners.
The double-elimination portion of the tournament begins Thursday, May 8. There will be three games on Thursday with the third contest being between the schools who lose in the first two games. Friday has two games with the first contest between the winners of the first two games from Thursday. The second Friday game will be between the winner of Thursday’s third game and the loser of the earlier Friday game. Saturday will be the championship final between the winners of the Friday games with a potential “if necessary” game to follow the final if each remaining school has one loss.
The conference champion earns the league’s automatic qualifier spot into the NCAA Division II East Regional Tournament at sites to be determined. Post University, the defending CACC Champion, Thomas Jefferson University and Goldey-Beacom College each made it to the NCAA Tournament this past spring.
Admission for all rounds of the championship is $10 for adults and $5 for children, seniors and college students with a valid school ID. The CACC Network will broadcast all rounds of the championship.
