NEW HAVEN, Conn. (November 11, 2025) – No. 2 seed Caldwell University and No. 4 seed Wilmington University were victorious on Tuesday afternoon during the semifinal round of the 2025 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Women’s Soccer Championship tournament. Caldwell and Wilmington will meet in the championship final on Saturday at noon at LaMoy Field on the campus of Post University in Waterbury, Conn.

Caldwell defeated No. 3 seed Chestnut Hill College, 3-0, in Caldwell, N.J., to advance to the final for the second consecutive year. Wilmington got past top seed and defending champion Thomas Jefferson University, 2-1, in overtime, in Philadelphia, Pa. The winner of Saturday’s match will not only be named the CACC champion but will claim the conference’s automatic berth into the NCAA Division II East Region Championship tournament.
Caldwell will be seeking its fourth CACC Championship, having won most recently in 2019. Wilmington will be playing for the program’s second conference crown, having taken the 2012 title. The teams are meeting in the finals for the first time. Jefferson and the Cougars tied, 1-1, in Caldwell in the teams’ 2025 regular-season matchup on October 18.
Tickets for the 2025 CACC Women’s Soccer Championship final are $10 for adults, and $5 for children, senior citizens (65+) and students with valid identification.

Freshman Indigo Kirk struck from the left side of the 18-yard box during the fifth minute of overtime to lift the Wildcats past Jefferson, who began the day ranked No. 10 nationally. The Rams (15-2-1) had taken the early lead on a 24th minute goal by Mia Ferrera, but Wilmington drew even on Sophia Filipowski’s marker with 8:26 to play in regulation. The Wildcats reach their first CACC final in four years.

Senior Taina Gervais scored one in each half and classmate Rosio Cardenas also had a goal as the Cougars (13-2-4) advanced. Caldwell goalkeeper Ariana Gaminara made six saves, including five after halftime, to secure the clean sheet. Haley Esposito stopped six shots for the Griffins (9-8-1).
