Wilmington is 2025 CACC Women's Soccer Champion

Wildcats Top Caldwell, 2-0, in Championship Final

WATERBURY, Conn. (November 15, 2025) – No. 4 seed Wilmington University defeated No. 2 seed Caldwell University, 2-0, in the championship match of the 2025 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Women’s Soccer Championship tournament on Saturday afternoon. The game was hosted by Post University at LaMoy Field.

Wilmington (12-2-6) captures the second CACC title in program history, with the other coming in 2012. The Wildcats are the first women’s soccer team to win the CACC championship from the No. 4 seed since 2018. Wilmington secures the CACC’s automatic berth into the 2025 NCAA Division II East Region Championship.

Wilmington broke through on the scoreboard during the 67th minute on Saturday on a goal by freshman Eboni Bradshaw. The Wildcats continued to pressure offensively, and pushed the lead to 2-0 when junior Maria Leguizamon headed home a corner kick with 11:14 remaining. Wilmington compiled advantages of 20-8 in shots and 8-2 in corners.

Leguizamon, a defender, was named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player after the Wildcats outscored opponents, 6-1, during her team’s three games. Wilmington looks forward to the NCAA Division II Women’s Soccer Selection Show on Monday at 6:30 p.m.
