Bridgeport is 2025 CACC Women's Volleyball Champion After Five-Set Win in Final

Purple Knights Outlast Holy Family for Second Title in Three Years

WILMINGTON, Del. (November 23, 2025) – North Division No. 2 seed University of Bridgeport defeated South Division No. 2 seed Holy Family University, 3-2 (25-21, 21-25, 25-22, 21-25, 15-9) in the championship final of the 2025 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Championship tournament on Sunday afternoon. The event was hosted by Goldey-Beacom College at the Joseph West Jones Center.

Bridgeport wins its second CACC championship in the last three years. The Purple Knights claim the CACC’s automatic berth into the NCAA Division II East Regional Championship.

Bridgeport (12-17) took the lead for good in Set 5 with four consecutive points that turned a one-point deficit into an 8-5 advantage. The Purple Knights extended their edge to 13-7 before ending the match four rallies later. Madison Mohan had five kills during the deciding set. Holy Family (22-9), which also played five sets in its semifinal win over Post University on Saturday, had extended the match with its Set 4 win.

Bridgeport junior Hailey Jessen turned in a match-high 28 kills and 15 digs. Mohan finished with 17 kills, and Cecilia Kowalksi added eight kills and seven blocks. UB setter Camdyn Cieszkiewicz tallied 59 assists, 11 digs and three blocks. Ava Kidd led four hitters in double figures in kills for the Tigers with 21.

Jessen was named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player after accumulating 58 kills and 34 digs during the event. Jessen was also the MVP following UB’s 2023 tournament victory. Bridgeport looks forward to the NCAA Division II Women’s Volleyball Selection Show on Monday at 7:30 p.m. on ncaa.com.
