CACC MEN’S BASKETBALL – December 22, 2025

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

MELVIN EVANS, Caldwell (SR, G, Bronx, N.Y.) – Led the Cougars to a 3-0 week. Shot 62 percent from the floor and averaged 17.0 points, 4.0 assists, and 2.3 steals. Scored a game-high 22 points, on 8-of-9 shooting, with six rebounds and six steals in Friday’s win over Wilmington. Followed with 16 points and five assists as Caldwell topped No. 21 Assumption on Sunday.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

JEREMIAH GORHAM, Chestnut Hill (FR, G, Bristow, Va.) – In the Griffins’ only action of the week, scored a season-high 21 points with three assists during an 80-67 win over District of Columbia on Dec. 18. Was 8 for 11 from the floor, including 5 of 7 from three-point range.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

EMARQUIS JONES, Goldey-Beacom (JR, G/F, Brooklyn, N.Y.) – Averaged 6.7 rebounds (4.0 defensive), 4.0 steals, and 0.7 blocks (plus 16.7 points) during a 2-1 week for the Lightning. Played 30.3 minutes per game to help GBC cause a combined 60 turnovers.

 

HONOR ROLL

JEREMIAH ANDERSON, Felician – Averaged 16.5 points and 5.5 assists during a 1-1 week for the Golden Falcons.
NAJEE COURSEY, Holy Family – Shot 64 percent and averaged 18.5 points and 5.5 rebounds as the Tigers split a pair of games.
ALEJANDRO CYBAK, Chestnut Hill – Scored 17 points with nine rebounds during a victory over UDC.
CAM EDMONDS, Georgian Court – Scored 22.5 points per game during two starts for the Lions.
MATT GARDLER, Holy Family – Averaged 15.5 points and 6.0 assists during a 1-1 week for the Tigers.
TRE POWELL, Goldey-Beacom – Scored 17.7 points per game during a 2-1 week, including 27 in a win over Molloy.
