PHILADELPHIA (April 23, 2025) – Thomas Jefferson University senior Cassie Murphy has been named the 2024-25 Philly-SIDA Academic All-Area Women’s Basketball Performer of the Year, Philly-SIDA announced on Tuesday. The team is selected by the athletics communications offices from the 30 institutions in the Philadelphia area. The Philly-SIDA Academic All-Area program is in its 20th season.
In order to be eligible for consideration, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically, hold at least a 3.30 cumulative grade-point average and be a starter or important reserve for their respective teams.
Murphy concluded her career as the Rams’ sixth all-time leading scorer with 1,835 points. The 2024-25 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Player of the Year, she is a two-time winner of the CACC Top XVII Award, given to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative GPA at the championship site.
Holy Family University junior Taylor Hinkle was also selected to the women’s team. On the men’s side, Chestnut Hill College junior Alejandro Redondo Cybak represented the CACC.
The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference is celebrating the 20th anniversary of its affiliation with NCAA Division II. Conference institutions compete for championships in 18 sports – eight for men, nine for women, and one co-ed. The CACC contains 12 members in Connecticut, Delaware, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. Membership includes Bloomfield College of Montclair State University, the University of Bridgeport, Caldwell University, Chestnut Hill College, Dominican University New York, Felician University, Georgian Court University, Goldey-Beacom College, Holy Family University, Post University, Thomas Jefferson University, and Wilmington University.
