NEW HAVEN, Conn. (July 18, 2025) – Three Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference men’s basketball programs – the University of Bridgeport, Chestnut Hill College, and Post University – have earned the 2024-25 National Association of Basketball Coaches Team Academic Excellence Award, the NABC announced on Thursday. The CACC also saw 36 of its men’s basketball student-athletes named to the 2024-25 NABC Honors Court.
The NABC’s academic awards are presented annually to teams and athletes from all levels of college basketball. The NABC Team Academic Excellence Awards recognize programs that completed the 2024-25 academic year with a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or higher. Nearly 400 programs received the award this season.
The NABC Honors Court includes junior, senior, and graduate student men’s basketball players who finished the 2024-25 year with a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher. Founded in 1961, the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference has been affiliated with NCAA Division II for 20 years. Conference institutions compete for championships in 17 sports – seven for men, nine for women, and one co-ed. The CACC contains 11 full members in Connecticut, Delaware, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. Membership includes the University of Bridgeport, Caldwell University, Chestnut Hill College, Dominican University New York, Felician University, Georgian Court University, Goldey-Beacom College, Holy Family University, Post University, Thomas Jefferson University, and Wilmington University.
