PLAYER AND ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
THOMAS MATUSZEWSKI, Jefferson – Freshman infielder led the Rams (No. 22 ABCA, No. 24 NCBWA) to a 6-0 week with five multi-hit games. Went 16 for 26 (.615) with 10 runs scored and 17 runs batted in. Belted five doubles, a triple, and two home runs for a 1.115 slugging percentage and got on base at a .630 pace. On Sunday, was 9 for 9 with four extra-base hits, six runs and 10 RBI as Jefferson swept a doubleheader from Chestnut Hill.
PITCHER OF THE WEEK
CASEY MURPHY, Holy Family – Graduate righty tossed a seven-inning complete-game three-hitter, with six strikeouts and no walks, as the Tigers defeated regionally-ranked Dominican, 12-1, in Game 2 on Apr. 23. Pitched a scoreless inning to pick up a victory in relief against Lincoln on Sunday. Was 2-0 with a 1.13 earned-run average and a .143 opponent batting average for the week.
HONOR ROLL
ETHAN CRAIG, Lincoln – Allowed one earned run with nine strikeouts in a seven-inning complete-game victory over Caldwell.
TY GILLIGAN, Dominican – Hit .476 with three home runs, eight runs scored and 11 RBI during a 5-1 week for the Chargers.
MIKEY HAWBAKER, Goldey-Beacom – Scattered eight hits over eight innings with four strikeouts, yielding one run in a complete-game victory over Wilmington.
ZINNY KEMAHU, Georgian Court – Went 7 for 13 with two doubles and three home runs in four games.
BRADEN KOLMANSBERGER, Goldey-Beacom – Went 10 for 20 and slugged 1.250 with three homers and 14 RBI during a 3-3 week for the Lightning.
KENYON MOTLEY, Chestnut Hill – Was 15 for 30 with a home run, 11 runs, 10 RBI and nine stolen bases as the Griffins went 5-3.
BRENDAN PALMER, Bridgeport – Allowed four hits in six scoreless innings with seven strikeouts during a win over Bloomfield.
DAMAURYS RODRIGUEZ, Post – During six games, batted .550, scored 10 runs and stole five bases.
JAKE SCHWEIKER, Chestnut Hill – In two pitching starts, went 1-1 with a 1.50 ERA, a .182 opponent BA, and 14 strikeouts in 12 innings.
