NEW HAVEN, Conn. (June 23, 2025) – Four Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference baseball players have been chosen to the 2025 American Baseball Coaches Association NCAA Division II East Region All-Defensive Team, the ABCA recently announced.

The CACC claimed the region’s all-defensive battery in senior pitcher Jake Schweiker of Chestnut Hill College and senior catcher Nick Classie of Wilmington University. Schweiker committed just one error, which occurred in the Griffins’ season opener, in 11 appearances. Classie had only one error and four passed balls in 45 games while throwing out 22 would-be base-stealers

Freshman Erick Diaz of Dominican University New York and Goldey-Beacom College senior Christian Petrillo were selected as outfielders, with both playing primarily center field. Diaz collected 123 putouts with a single error in 53 games, while Petrillo totaled 124 putouts, eight assists and one error in 45 games.

The ABCA Division II All-Region Defensive Teams are voted on by members of the ABCA and the process is led by the group’s D-II All-America and Coach of the Year Committee. Recipients from all eight Division II regions can be viewed at the link above; East Region honorees are below.

The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference is celebrating the 20^th anniversary of its affiliation with NCAA Division II. Conference institutions compete for championships in 18 sports – eight for men, nine for women, and one co-ed. The CACC contains 12 members in Connecticut, Delaware, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. Membership includes Bloomfield College of Montclair State University, the University of Bridgeport, Caldwell University, Chestnut Hill College, Dominican University New York, Felician University, Georgian Court University, Goldey-Beacom College, Holy Family University, Post University, Thomas Jefferson University, and Wilmington University.
