CALDWELL, NJ (June 25, 2025) -- The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) has announced the Caldwell University Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) as the winner of the league's 2024-25 Community Engagement Award for the community event "Super Saturday," hosted during the women's basketball game on February 22 at the Newman Center Gymnasium.

The day included a celebration of National Girls and Women in Sports Day with local Girl Scout troops recognized during the game. Their participation helped bring a connection between the university, athletics and the community.

This marked the second consecutive year that Caldwell has received this award. The event was a collaboration of efforts between SAAC and the university sports management students.

This event had extreme success on many different levels. Every Caldwell athletic team had student involvement, whether in the steps of planning, coordinating activities with local Girl Scouts, or simply cheering in the stands. With the help of the university and the students, the event drew more than 350 students' participation and welcomed 105 Girl Scouts. The event raised more than $2,000 from the support of the community.

Caldwell University sports management professor Neil Malvone expressed his gratitude for the students' efforts. "It was incredibly rewarding to witness our students put into practice the principles we teach in the classroom: servant leadership, giving back to those in need, and doing good for others," he said."
