CACC Hall of Fame Class of 2025 Announced

Honorees Include Three Standout Female Athletes, Ex-MLB Performer

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (September 2, 2025) – The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference has elected four individuals into its Hall of Fame, CACC Commissioner Dan Mara announced today. The conference will recognize the honorees throughout the 2025-26 academic year with various on-campus events.

The CACC Hall of Fame Class of 2025 consists of Kelly Killion, women’s basketball student-athlete from Holy Family University; Lauren Riiff Larkin, women’s soccer student-athlete from Chestnut Hill College; Jerry Vasto, baseball student-athlete from Felician University; and Sheila Wooten; student-athlete, coach and administrator at Bloomfield College.

“The 2025 Hall of Fame class features three of the greatest female student-athletes in CACC history as well as the conference’s first player to reach Major League Baseball,” Mara said. “In addition to her outstanding athletic achievements, Sheila Wooten helped shape the CACC during her distinguished career as an athletics administrator. It is very fitting that we honor this quartet for its incredible contributions to the conference.”



12340KELLY KILLION (Holy Family Women’s Basketball)
A two-time CACC Player of the Year (2006-07, 2007-08), Killion was a key component of Holy Family teams that went 85-1 in CACC regular-season play from 2004-08. The Tigers captured three conference championships during her career, with Killion, a four-time CACC All-Tournament honoree, being named tournament Most Valuable Player following the 2005 and 2007 events. Holy Family qualified for the NCAA Tournament following all four of her seasons, with the 2007-08 squad becoming the first CACC team to advance to the NCAA D-II East Region final.

The 2004-05 conference Co-Newcomer of the Year, Killion is a four-time All-CACC selection (three First Team) and two-time Second-Team All-Region choice. She totaled 1574 career points (7th at HFU, 17th in CACC NCAA era), 619 assists (2nd, 2nd) and 313 three-point field goals (1st, 1st). Killion is a 2008 cum laude graduate of Holy Family. Her 2007-08 Tiger team was inducted into the CACC Hall of Fame Class of 2017, and Killion entered the Holy Family Athletics Hall of Fame in 2021. In April 2025, Killion was named the head women’s basketball coach at American University.
 


12342LAUREN RIIFF LARKIN (Chestnut Hill Women’s Soccer)
Riiff Larkin is the first representative of Chestnut Hill College in the CACC Hall of Fame. She was twice selected as the CACC Women’s Soccer Player of the Year (2009, 2011). She was a four-time All-CACC honoree including being named to the First Team three times. Following Riiff Larkin’s senior season of 2011, during which she led the CACC in goals (18), points (41) and shots (93), she earned NSCAA All-Region and Daktronics Third-Team All-America Honors.

Riiff Larkin, by a wide margin, ranks first on the Griffins’ all-time lists for points (130), goals (56), game-winning goals (14), and shots (310). She led CHC to three CACC playoff appearances. Riiff Larkin completed her bachelor’s degree at Chestnut Hill in 2012 and was inducted into the Griffins’ Athletics Hall of Fame in 2022. She is a sales manager at Oakwood Builders in Blackwood, N.J.
 


12346JERRY VASTO (Felician Baseball)
The first baseball player elected to the CACC Hall of Fame, Vasto was also the first conference alumnus to appear in Major League Baseball. The left-handed pitcher was a starter on Felician’s 2012 team which won the CACC regular-season title and was the conference runner-up. He emerged as a pro prospect two years later. Vasto led the 2014 Golden Falcons to their first CACC championship and first NCAA Tournament appearance, going 6-3 with a 1.94 earned run average, a .214 opponent batting average, and 79 strikeouts and 28 walks in 68 1/3 innings.

After being named the 2014 CACC Pitcher of the Year, consensus First-Team All-Region, and an NCBWA Honorable-Mention All-American, Vasto was selected by the Colorado Rockies in the 24th round of that year’s MLB First-Year Player Draft. As a relief pitcher, he progressed through the Rockies’ minor league system, making his major league debut on June 10, 2018. Following a trade, he appeared in five more 2018 games with the Kansas City Royals. Vasto earned 12 wins and 26 saves as a professional. A 2014 graduate, he was inducted into the Felician Athletics Hall of Fame in 2022. He is Director of Operations for Financial Partners Group.
 


12343SHEILA WOOTEN (Bloomfield College)
Sheila Wooten has had an immeasurable impact on the athletics program at Bloomfield College as a student-athlete, coach, and administrator. A 1985 graduate of Bloomfield, she is regarded as one of the premier athletes in school history. A two-time Women’s Sports Federation All-American in basketball, she completed her career with 1705 points and 1125 rebounds and was named All-CACC three times. She also played two seasons of volleyball and one year of softball. Wooten was inducted into the Bloomfield Athletics Hall of Fame in 1990.

Wooten was an NAIA Administrator of the Year as an Assistant A.D. in 1996 and the CACC Women’s Volleyball Coach of the Year in 1998, guiding the then-Deacons to a 26-8 record, the conference championship, and a trip to the regional final. She was appointed the Director of Athletics in 1999, and was instrumental in Bloomfield’s decision to apply for NCAA Division II membership. Guided by her leadership, the institution fully achieved that goal in 2002. Throughout her tenure as A.D., Wooten was active in the CACC as an officer, including a term as President, and on several committees. She was selected three times as the conference’s A.D. of the Year (2012-13, 2019-20, 2023-24). Wooten is now the Deputy Director of Athletics & Recreation - External Operations / Director of Bloomfield College Athletics as the school continues as Bloomfield College of Montclair State University.
 


Founded in 1961, the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference has been affiliated with NCAA Division II for 20 years. Conference institutions compete for championships in 17 sports – seven for men, nine for women, and one co-ed. The CACC contains 11 full members in Connecticut, Delaware, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. Membership includes the University of Bridgeport, Caldwell University, Chestnut Hill College, Dominican University New York, Felician University, Georgian Court University, Goldey-Beacom College, Holy Family University, Post University, Thomas Jefferson University, and Wilmington University.
