Seven CACC Players, Five Teams Garner USILA Academic Awards

D-II Scholar All-Americans, Team Academic Award Winners Released

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (July 3, 2025) – Seven Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference men’s lacrosse student-athletes representing four league institutions have been named 2025 Division II Scholar All-Americans by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association, the USILA announced on Wednesday. Additionally, five CACC programs have been honored with the 2025 USILA Division II Team Academic Award.

Scholar All-Americans are evaluated on a case-by-base basis by the USILA Scholar All-America Committee. To be eligible, student-athletes must have senior academic standing, a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.00, and be an All-American, member of a North/South team, or an outstanding conference player. He must also have behaved in a matter that brought credit to himself and his institution.

Chestnut Hill College topped the CACC with three honorees – Evan Farlow, Mick Kilgallon, and Sam Slater. CACC champion Georgian Court University saw Brett Bridges and Joe Murphy receive the accolade. Also honored were James Sproul of Post University and Wilmington University’s Paul Army.

Programs must produce a team GPA of 3.00 or higher for the academic year to received the USILA Team Academic Award. The University of Bridgeport joined Chestnut Hill. Georgian Court, Post and Wilmington in receiving that honor.

 

Founded in 1961, the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference has been affiliated with NCAA Division II for 20 years. Conference institutions compete for championships in 17 sports – seven for men, nine for women, and one co-ed. The CACC contains 11 full members in Connecticut, Delaware, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. Membership includes the University of Bridgeport, Caldwell University, Chestnut Hill College, Dominican University New York, Felician University, Georgian Court University, Goldey-Beacom College, Holy Family University, Post University, Thomas Jefferson University, and Wilmington University.
