NEW HAVEN, Conn. (August 26, 2025) – The 2025 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference cross-country season gets underway the weekend of September 5-6 with most teams in action in various races throughout the region.
The regular season will be a buildup to the 2025 CACC Cross-Country Championships on Sunday, October 26 at Belmont Plateau in Philadelphia, Pa. The men’s 8,000-meter race will begin at 10 a.m. Wilmington University is the defending team champion, while 2024 individual winner Joey Datta of Caldwell University’s, the first runner in CACC history to win the men’s race three times, has graduated.
Thomas Jefferson University will serve as host of the CACC Championships, which will be broadcast live on the CACC Network.
Below is a team-by-team preview of the 2025 campaign (submitted by member schools):
BRIDGEPORT – Sophomore Edoardo Vandelli is back after earning all-conference honors with a 15th-place performance last year. He was also twice named the CACC Rookie of the Week. Junior Nick Migliarese returns as well while the rest of the roster will be comprised of newcomers.
CALDWELL – Caldwell comes off its best finish ever at the CACC Championship, second place. Among the returnees from last year is All-CACC performer Luke Molyneux, a sophomore, who was 13th at the 2024 league meet. Also back are junior Logan Kudla (33rd) and sophomore Nicholas Monteil (52nd). Head Coach Kyle Price is in his sixth year at the Cougars’ helm.
CHESTNUT HILL – The Griffins have a new coach as Ryan O’Hara takes over for Ashley Johnson. CHC has two returnees from last year, Braden Berkey and Ryan O’Hara (son of the coach). Berkey is the Griffins’ best hope for an all-conference performance after finishing 29th in last year’s CACC meet. O’Hara placed 38th at CACCs in 2024, running a personal best time despite having gotten knocked into a pole during the first half mile of the race, opening a big gash on his face. CHC will have three newcomers to give the team five regular runners.
DOMINICAN – DUNY returns five runners from 2024 and adds three.
FELICIAN – The Golden Falcons graduate All-CACC performer Daniel Chinchilla, who had four top-four finishes a year ago. Top returnees include sophomore Robert Kennedy, who turned in a 10K time of 36:22 at the NCAA D-II East Regionals, and senior Joshua Ormilon, who ran a season-best 29:09 at the NJIT Highlander Challenge. Felician’s incoming freshmen are Neil Donnelly, Aiden Jefferson, and Jean Quintero Bolanos.
GEORGIAN COURT – Coming off a sixth-place result in the CACC in 2024, the Lions are looking to finish fifth or better in the season ahead. Nolan Kus, who earned all-conference honors by finishing fourth in last year’s CACC Championship, is a key loss. GCU returns Colin Broadbelt, Joe Jamolawicz, Luke McCormick, Ryan Pettrow, Matt Schaub and Zachary Spoonire and looks for a boost from newcomer Stephen Lane.
GOLDEY-BEACOM – GBC closed fourth at last year’s conference meet and returns a pair of all-CACC runners. The Lightning will once again get a huge boost from junior John Ferry, their only runner to compete in all 14 races over the last two years. Ferry had four top-five finishes last year, including fifth at the CACC Championship. Kosiani Dunkley, who was sixth at the conference race, is also back after an outstanding 2024 season.
HOLY FAMILY – Catie (Jaskowak) Holohan, a 2018 All-Northeast Conference performer at Saint Francis University and a member of the Red Flash’s 2016 NEC Championship team, takes over the reins of the HFU cross-country program. The Tiger men are coming off a seventh-place finish at the 2024 CACC Championship and return three student-athletes who ran in that race. Holy Family opens its season at the Philadelphia Cross Classic on Sept. 6 at Belmont Plateau, the site of the 2025 CACC Championship race.
JEFFERSON – The Rams return three of their top seven runners from last year’s CACC and NCAA Regional races. Returners include Shernel Singh, who was one spot short of an All-CACC performance last season, and Mason Moore, who had the best finish for the Rams in the 2024 NCAA Division II East Regional Championship at 49th.
POST – Four-year runner Drew Paskanik has graduated. Guided by second-year head coach Dillon Bell and assistant Bill Ferrare, the Eagles have new talent on the roster, headed by Alex Cole, a transfer from Southern Connecticut State University. Freshman Anthony Guallpa is coming off a strong summer in which he has already shown improvement from his promising high school career. Graduate student Marcus Wilson has bridged the gap between Paskanik and the other newcomers, debuting last spring during the non-traditional season. The schedule opens with a 5K at storied Wickham Park before 8Ks hosted by St. Joseph’s (LI), Caldwell, and Westfield State en route to the CACC Championship.
WILMINGTON - Led by eight-time CACC Men’s Coach of the Year Keith Jones, now in his 26th season at the helm, the Wildcats will be looking for their third CACC Championship in a row in 2025. They graduated their top two runners from 2024 but return experienced runners in Braeden Peterson (26th at CACC’s), Zach Souders, and Carter Sparwasser (8th at CACC’s). The Wildcats have one senior transfer and five incoming freshmen joining the team in 2025. The Wildcats have four meets to prepare for the 2025 CACC Championship, starting on September 6 at the Philadelphia Cross Classic.
