ORANGEBURG, N.Y. (January 22, 2026) -- The Dominican University New York women's lacrosse team has been ranked No. 15 in the 2026 Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Division II Preseason Coaches Poll.

This is the program's first-ever appearance in the preseason poll and its highest ranking.

The University of Tampa, the two-time defending national champions, opens the 2026 season atop the IWLCA Division II Preseason Coaches Poll.

Adelphi, coming off a finals appearance last year, claims the No. 2 spot, followed by Florida Southern at No. 3, West Chester at No. 4, and UIndy rounding out the Top 5.

The Lady Chargers concluded the 2025 season with an overall record of 19-2, setting a new program record for wins in a season, and had won 18 straight games until their loss in the second round of the NCAA East Regional Tournament.

Dominican earned the program's and Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference's (CACC) first berth in the NCAA Women's Lacrosse Tournament after winning their third-straight CACC Tournament Championship. The team, ranked third in the East Region, went on to defeat Molloy in the first round to pick up the school's and conference's first victory in the NCAA Tournament in the sport of women's lacrosse.

The Lady Chargers were ranked 16th in the final IWLCA Poll of 2025.

The regular season IWLCA Division II Coaches Polls are set to be released weekly at 10 a.m., beginning on Monday, February 16.
