NEW HAVEN, Conn. (June 8, 2026) – Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference champion Wilmington University is ranked in both major final 2026 NCAA Division II national women’s lacrosse polls. Wilmington is the No. 17 team in the final USA Lacrosse Magazine poll and is listed at No. 21 in the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association version.
Fellow CACC finalist Dominican University New York is ranked No. 22 in the final IWLCA D-II poll and was among those also considered by USA Lacrosse.
Wilmington (19-3) won its first CACC championship, defeating Dominican in the conference championship final, 13-9, on May 2 in Newark, Del. Both teams were selected for the NCAA Division II Tournament, with the Wildcats topping the Chargers again in first-round action.
Dominican, which won the CACC regular-season crown, finished 14-5.
Founded in 1961, the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference has been affiliated with NCAA Division II for 20 years. Conference institutions compete for championships in 17 sports – seven for men, nine for women, and one co-ed. The CACC contains 11 full members in Connecticut, Delaware, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. Membership includes the University of Bridgeport, Caldwell University, Chestnut Hill College, Dominican University New York, Felician University, Georgian Court University, Goldey-Beacom College, Holy Family University, Post University, Thomas Jefferson University, and Wilmington University.
