NEW HAVEN, Conn. (January 27, 2026) – Caldwell University senior swing player Lucy Coogan has been named the Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association Women’s Division II-III Player of the Week for the period ending January 25, the MBWA announced today. Coogan was chosen as the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Player of the Week on Monday.
Coogan posted a pair of 20+ point double-doubles during Cougar victories last week. She tallied 22 points, 14 rebounds, and five assists during a Jan. 20 win at the College of Staten Island, and followed with 23 points, 10 boards, and five assists as Caldwell topped Goldey-Beacom College last Saturday.
Coogan, who is the Met Player of the Week for the first time in her career, is the CACC’s fifth-leading scorer at 16.1 points per game. Her 41 three-point field goals top the conference.
MBWA weekly awards for Division II-III encompass 49 schools in the New York City metropolitan area.
Founded in 1961, the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference has been affiliated with NCAA Division II for 20 years. Conference institutions compete for championships in 17 sports – seven for men, nine for women, and one co-ed. The CACC contains 11 full members in Connecticut, Delaware, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. Membership includes the University of Bridgeport, Caldwell University, Chestnut Hill College, Dominican University New York, Felician University, Georgian Court University, Goldey-Beacom College, Holy Family University, Post University, Thomas Jefferson University, and Wilmington University.
