NORRISTOWN, Pa. (October 8, 2026) – St. Thomas Aquinas College has won the 2026-27 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Men’s Golf Championship. The Spartans, who had extended a five-stroke lead after the first round to 24 following Round 2, posted a team score of 295 during Thursday’s final round to remain atop the seven-team field and secure the title. The tournament was hosted by Thomas Jefferson University Tuesday through Thursday at Jeffersonville Golf Club.
Led by head coach Stephen Ferrara and a tournament medalist performance by sophomore J.D. Ambrose, St. Thomas Aquinas produce a 54-hole team score of 873 (+33). That total was 30 shots better than runner-up Felician University. STAC saw all five of its golfers place among the top eight finishers, including three earn a spot on the All-Tournament Team.

With the victory, the Spartans earn the CACC’s automatic qualifier into the 2027 NCAA Division II East/Atlantic Regional Championship next May. STAC, which was a full member of the CACC from 1965-99, rejoined as an associate member for men’s golf this season. It last won a conference title in the sport in 2007, the final championship of six consecutive in the New York Collegiate Athletic Conference (now East Coast Conference).
Conor McKenna (218, T-2nd) and Max Gibbs (221, 5th) joined Ambrose (216) on the All-Tournament Team. Diego Ocasio tied for sixth place with a 54-hole total of 223 and Ethan Jolin’s tournament score of 225 tied for eighth place on the individual leaderboard for STAC.
Felician, led by Alvaro Rogado’s All-Tournament performance, finished as high as second for the first time since 2015-16. The Golden Falcons (903) were four shots better than third-place and 2025 champion Wilmington University. Jefferson was fourth (930), followed by a tie between Chestnut Hill College and Post University (938) with Dominican University New York (956) completing the standings.
Founded in 1961, the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference has been affiliated with NCAA Division II for 21 years. Conference institutions compete for championships in 18 sports – seven for men, 10 for women, and one co-ed. The CACC contains 11 full members in Connecticut, Delaware, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. Membership includes the University of Bridgeport, Caldwell University, Chestnut Hill College, Dominican University New York, Felician University, Georgian Court University, Goldey-Beacom College, Holy Family University, Post University, Thomas Jefferson University, and Wilmington University.
