Initial East Region Women's Lacrosse Ranking Includes CACC Trio

Chargers, Rams, and Wildcats Under Consideration for NCAA Berth

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (April 16, 2026) – Three Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference members – Dominican University New York, Thomas Jefferson University, and Wilmington University – are under consideration for the 2026 NCAA Division II Women’s Lacrosse Championship tournament, the NCAA D-II Women’s Lacrosse Committee announced on Wednesday.

The committee released its first set of regional rankings for all four NCAA Division II regions on Wednesday. Teams under consideration in each region were announced in alphabetical order. Eight teams were listed as under consideration in the East Region, including the Chargers, Rams and Wildcats, for the six available berths. The committee will release rankings in rank order on April 22 and 29.

Dominican (9-3, 5-0 CACC) is the CACC’s first-place team and defending champion. The Chargers are ranked No. 18 in the most recent USA Lacrosse Magazine national Division II poll. Jefferson (11-4, 6-1) is in second place in the CACC, a game back of the Chargers, while Wilmington (12-2, 4-2) spent multiple weeks in the national poll earlier this season.

The NCAA will announce the 24-team field for the 2025 Division II Women’s Lacrosse Championship on Sunday, May 3. The winner of the CACC Championship tournament will automatically qualify for the NCAA Tournament.

Founded in 1961, the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference has been affiliated with NCAA Division II for 20 years. Conference institutions compete for championships in 17 sports – seven for men, nine for women, and one co-ed. The CACC contains 11 full members in Connecticut, Delaware, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. Membership includes the University of Bridgeport, Caldwell University, Chestnut Hill College, Dominican University New York, Felician University, Georgian Court University, Goldey-Beacom College, Holy Family University, Post University, Thomas Jefferson University, and Wilmington University.
