NEW HAVEN, Conn. (May 1, 2026) – The field for the 2026 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Softball Championship tournament was determined following the completion of regular-season play on Wednesday. The tournament schedule was announced today by CACC Commissioner Dan Mara. The tournament begins with four first-round series on Saturday and Sunday, with the advancing teams competing in a four-team double-elimination segment to be hosted by Wilmington University from May 7-9 to determine the champion.
More information is available at the CACC Softball Championship web page at https://caccathletics.org/tournaments/?id=30.
The first-round series will be hosted by the higher seeds and, for the first time, will be contested in a best-of-three format. Competing teams will play a doubleheader on Saturday. If necessary, a third, deciding game will be held on Sunday at the same site.
Caldwell University (25-17, 15-3 CACC) won the CACC regular-season title for the first time since 2018. The Cougars are thus the No. 1 seed for the tournament. The other first-round hosts will be No. 2 seed Felician University (23-21, 14-4), No. 3 seed University of Bridgeport (28-18, 13-5), and No. 4 seed Holy Family University (19-23, 11-7).
Caldwell will host a playoff series against No. 8 seed Post University (10-31, 7-11) in Caldwell, N.J. Felician will welcome No. 7 seed Thomas Jefferson University (19-23, 8-10) to Nutley, N.J., while Bridgeport will entertain Goldey-Beacom College (20-18, 9-9), the No. 6 seed. Defending champion and No. 5 seed Wilmington University (20-26, 10-8) will travel to Bensalem, Pa., to face Holy Family in a series in which Saturday will be a single game. Start times for all four series are listed below.
The four-team, double-elimination portion will take place at Asbury Field in New Castle, Del. The winner of the 2026 CACC Softball Championship will earn the league’s automatic berth into the NCAA Division II East Region Championship tournament.
Tickets for all days of the 2026 CACC Softball Championship are $10 per day for adults and $5 for children, senior citizens (65+) and students with valid identification.
