Felician's Torres Named Academic All-America in Softball

Junior DP is Only 2026 Honoree from CSC

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (June 17, 2026) – Felician University junior designated player Kimberly Torres has been selected to the 2026 College Sports Communicators Division II Softball Academic All America® First Team, CSC announced on Tuesday.

Academic All-American is a title reserved for college student-athletes who perform at an elite level in their chosen sport and in the classroom. Established in 1952 and selected by CSC, Academic All-America is the longest-running and premier award for athletic and academic success across championship college sports. Torres is the only Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference student-athlete to be voted onto the 2026 softball teams.

Torres, from East Orange, N.J., helped lead Felician to second place in the CACC and a third-place result in the conference tournament. She batted a league-best .448 and also topped the CACC in hits (73), doubles (21), home runs (13), runs batted in (47), and slugging (.828). She was an All-America selection of both the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (Second Team) and the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (Third Team).

Torres carries a 3.70 grade-point average while majoring in communications.

 

Founded in 1961, the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference has been affiliated with NCAA Division II for 20 years. Conference institutions compete for championships in 17 sports – seven for men, nine for women, and one co-ed. The CACC contains 11 full members in Connecticut, Delaware, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. Membership includes the University of Bridgeport, Caldwell University, Chestnut Hill College, Dominican University New York, Felician University, Georgian Court University, Goldey-Beacom College, Holy Family University, Post University, Thomas Jefferson University, and Wilmington University.
