NEW HAVEN, Conn. (June 17, 2026) – Caldwell University softball player Haleigh Fisher has been selected the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Student-Athlete of the Month for May 2026, CACC Commissioner Dan Mara announced today. Fisher earned the award for demonstrating success on the field during the month, while also being a standout in the classroom and giving back to her community.
Fisher, a rising junior pitcher from Smyrna, N.Y., helped Caldwell capture the 2026 CACC regular-season championship and earn an at-large selection into the NCAA Division-II Tournament. She appeared in six of the Cougars’ seven postseason games and finished as the CACC’s leader in earned-run average at 2.60.
Fisher was named the 2026 CACC Pitcher of the Year and to the D2CCA and NFCA All-East Region Second Teams. In two seasons, her 17 victories and 106 strikeouts rank among the top 20 in Caldwell history.
Academically, Fisher maintains a 3.89 cumulative grade-point average with a double major in biology and psychology. She has already attained 127 credits in two years at Caldwell. She earned 2026 College Sports Communicators Academic All District® and 2025 NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete Honors, and is a three-time President’s Level member of the CACC Academic Honor Roll.
Fisher is a coach in the Sherburne Area Little League. She has also served as a volunteer softball clinician for the Sherburne-Earlville Central School District.
The CACC Student-Athlete of the Month Award is handed out from September to May and recognizes one student-athlete from any sport active during that month.

Founded in 1961, the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference has been affiliated with NCAA Division II for 20 years. Conference institutions compete for championships in 17 sports – seven for men, nine for women, and one co-ed. The CACC contains 11 full members in Connecticut, Delaware, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. Membership includes the University of Bridgeport, Caldwell University, Chestnut Hill College, Dominican University New York, Felician University, Georgian Court University, Goldey-Beacom College, Holy Family University, Post University, Thomas Jefferson University, and Wilmington University.
